SBDI Blog Instructions

Thank you for your patience as we worked to iron out all the “kinks” in the new SBDI Blog.

We are pleased to announce that the Blog is now up and running and ready to use.
This is a secure site that can only be accessed by SBDIs and cannot be viewed by the general public.

Using the blog is easy... simply follow these simple steps to log in, create an account, and weigh in on the discussion questions:

Step 1: Logging On

Go to: http://www.sbdiexchange.org.

On the log-in screen, enter your user name, (as it appears on your SBDI card). Capitalize the first letter of each part of your name and do not include spaces. For example: JohnSmith. If your SBDI card has a “Jr.” or “Sr.” or “II,” after your name, you must include that.
Enter your password, which is your SBDI number, (MIs, use your SBDI number, not your MI number), with no dashes or spaces.

The site will load and you will then be able to view the discussion question.

Step 2: Create Your Own Blog Account

a. Click on “Register to Comment” under “SBDI Registration” in the right hand column on the home page.
b. Enter a user name, or nickname, of your choosing, and your e-mail address.
Within minutes you will receive an e-mail from “WordPress” giving you an assigned password.
c. Log in using the user name you created, and your password.
The “my profile” page will appear.
Enter as much information as you want, and ignore sections that don’t apply to you, such as Instant Messaging or your own Web site. (You can always change your user name, password or other information in your profile by going to the “My Account” page). Hit “update profile.

To post a comment:

Click on “view site” at the top of the profile page to return to the Home Page.
Move your cursor over the text of the discussion question.
Type your comments in the box and hit “enter.”

You will be able to see your comment, but it will not appear on the site until it has been cleared through the Blog manager.

If you have any questions, or experience any difficulties, please contact blog manager, Ron Streeter, ron@ptsi.org.

Thank you and Happy Blogging!
