This PTSI New York State DMV-approved Certified Examiner Training Course gives you the tools and knowledge needed to take the DMV-administered 19-A Certified Examiner Test – an important step in seeking supervisor duties within passenger transportation.

   Prerequisites to become a NYS DMV Certified Examiner:

  • Successful completion of a DMV-approved
  • Certified Examiner training course – this PTSI Course is DMV-approved.)
  • Current Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with proper endorsements
  • Licensed for at least 18 months in the class of bus you will be testing
  • Worked for a 19-A carrier for at least 18 months in the past three years
  • Two years experience in driver training and evaluation (affidavit of training required)
  • Company/school letter of endorsement supporting your application to become a CE
  • Clean driving record (less than seven points
